In synagogue today, Yom Kippur, I listened to

the rabbi, congregants, and staff say things about Him who was referred to from the pulpit and from the assembled as “45”, “he who is reviled”, “the orange one”, one guy near me me: ”that fucking asshole”.

And there were lots of references in the sermons to to hate, prejudice, war, the next election, morality, the Constitution, nuclear war, and the like.

I’ve sat through decades of high holiday sermons, through Nixon, 9/11 , Bush/Cheney, Iraq Wars, horrors perpetrated by terrorists in Israel, and all types of negativities, but I’ve never seen such a combination of fear and loathing as the congregants and clergy have for this creep in the WH.

It gave me great hope for the future.

Those with depth will understand wherefrom I come.

There is usually a discussion group on current events at this time -- and the rabbi announced it was canceled due to the dissension caused. Made my jaw drop. That's Santa Barbara! We moved to Ventura 2 years ago, and being us, haven't joined the temple, but have had some really nice interactions. Found out when Trump was elected the local rabbi spoke strongly against him -- and then had to apologize fulsomely and undertake the work of repairing a very divided congregation.

To say I don't get it would be an understatement.

L'Shanah Tovah, PCIntern.

Good to hear that your congregation is not putting up with this bastard in the White House. It gives me great hope as well.

Hope you had an easy fast.

The pastor loved to preach the RepubliCON talking points from the pulpit.

Religion is just another scam to abuse average people.
