The advertisement also says the Republican Party has "turned its back on conservative values and has instead come to embrace the 'textbook' racism of white nationalism."
According to an analysis published Wednesday by the news site Axios, Penzeys' spending on the impeachment-related ad between Sept. 25 and Oct. 5 was second only to the Trump campaigns own ads about impeachment.
In comparison, Democrat Elizabeth Warrens presidential campaign spent $20,000 on impeachment ads in the same time period, according to the report.
This isnt Penzeys' first foray into political activism. But company CEO Bill Penzey said this has been their most successful political ad to date. The post has gotten nearly 250,000 likes and 43,000 shares, tipping it into "viral" territory in the realm of social media.

(129,304 posts)The chart of the spending from the last week -
I literally have an entire cabinet full of Penzey's spices - mainly because they have such a variety (both single spices or popular blends) used for so many international recipes and offer different quantities for when you know you use certain ones a lot.
I also love Bill Penzey's messaging in his emails as he balances righteous indignation about the horrible state of our nation due to what is in the WH, with the fact that "cooking" is a universal activity that crosses cultures and doesn't require any political affiliation to enjoy doing.

Still love you, Bum!

Literally. A good curry always burns twice.
They closed their store here a few months ago. Luckily, I stocked up before they left town.

Think about sending their products as gifts it will make it feel like a win-win.

(2,998 posts)The only Penzey's product I find disappointing is their berbere - it tastes more like Indian curry than actual Ethiopian berbere. I usually bring back a bunch when I go to Ethiopia.
Otherwise, their herbs and spice blends are superior to anything I find in the spice aisle of any grocery store.
Their collective social attitude is, of course, also excellent..

(7,220 posts)It feel GREAT to support a company that's loud and proud about their social conscience. And their spices are SO fantastic. If anyone is looking for recommendation, their Chicago Steak Seasoning is amazing on more than just steaks--they make roasted veggies smoky and delicious too!
Also recommend Sandwich sprinkle, frozen pizza seasoning, Barbeque of the Americas, mural of flavor (salt-free).

(12,165 posts)This thread was spawned by topical news about Penzey's investment in an impeachment ad campaign, so it didn't start as out outright promotion for the company.
But if someone were to post something that's overtly promotional, with no relationship to the purpose of a particular forum, then it will rightly be tagged as spam.
There's a Cooking & Baking forum in the Home & Family topic area. It's up to the mods as to what gets posted, but that may be a place to discuss Penzy products.
But in every circumstance, I think an outright promotional and spammy post will get tagged as spam and sent to a jury.

Im pretty sure it happened twice.

never shopped there. Never even heard of it until posted on DU. Then found out I passed it a lot never knew it was there but have never stopped. So much for spam. I just remember posts being removed.

(5,478 posts)They had a store in downtown Seattle for a few years which was a regular stop for me on my way to the Aquarium for my volunteer shift. They had to close that store a couple of years ago when the rent went through the roof. Their new place isn't as convenient to get to, but we make the trip fairly often, especially when they send out one of their killer deals. We've stocked up with a decent assortment of gift boxes to be given out this holiday season.
Good company, great values (both in corporate values and bang-for-the-buck with their spices and seasonings).
