The Civil War, The McCarthy era, And Donald Trump
Ever since we gained independence in the American Revolution, we have had eras in which our country has been in grave danger.
There was the Civil War.
The McCarthy era was an attack by fascist fanatics upon our Constitution. And it destroyed the lives of many decent, patriotic Americans before it was stopped.
And now there's Donald Trump. He's something new, dangerous and deadly. He has one cause in life and one thing he cares about. -- Donald Trump.
Millions of Americans have bought the shit he's peddling. They have devoured his Kool-Aid cocktail, and they will never "get it." He is a "god" to them.
And he is a poisonous buffoon to the majority of us.
Today, we are facing a critical moment in history. There's no doubt the House will impeach him. And at this moment, there's little doubt the Senate will try him and find him not guilty.
And that means he's free to go on running for the 2020 presidency.
Is there anyone here who doubts he will try to win/steal that race by any and all means possible?
Think of another four years of Trump in the White House. Does anyone believe our democracy would survive?
Another Trump presidency is a possibility. The result of that possibility is predictable. Is that a world you want to live in?
A second reign of this beast is something that cannot be allowed to happen. So what are we prepared to do about it if/when he's impeached, found not guilty by the Senate, steals a second term, and then proceeds to despoil humanity?
Let me say this: All options must be on the table in order to save our democracy.
Disagree with me? Let's hear about it.
