Let Me See If I Understand This Turkish Thing Correctly....

Trump and Erdogan talk. Trump abandons the Kurds in Syria who are U.S. allies that were fighting ISIS with U.S. supplied arms so Turkey can attack the Kurds and drive them from their territory and re-populate it with arabs. And now the Turkish forces may be attacking U.S. bases in the area where they know they exist because the Turks are in contact with the Pentagon that is telling them where these bases are so they don't attack them.

This was all Trump's brainchild because he didn't want endless wars. All the while an impeachment inquiry is being conducted to remove Trump from office because he's extorting the Ukraine president in order to get info on a potential opponent he may be facing in an upcoming election. And now Trump is looking to negotiate a settlement between the Turks and the Kurds to end the fighting before -hopefully- no Americans get killed in the process - while Trump is campaigning around the country to defeat the Dems by calling them traitors and using racial talk because he feels he's being treated badly by the Dems. All the while his so-called lawyer that he's not sure is still representing him is being criminally investigated because he's running around the world chasing down conspiracy theories about a son of the candidate he thinks Trump will face in the election and working with people that have just got arrested for funnelling foreign money to Trump's campaign.

I'm not sure I've got any of this story straight because Trump claims that the truth is fake and makes up stories and lies and calls them truths. Oh - and he wants to put a man on the moon by the way.

And this is only a small part of the story.

No wonder I can't get back to sleep and I'm posting this insane crap here on DU.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look what’s happening in Syria with our allies who already put THEIR lives on the line to fight with us. That’s going to spread all vet the world wherever we have forces stationed.

They won’t feel their so-called commander-in-chief has their backs - especially if he’s got a damned hotel in the area. We all know what he’s more concerned about: his own damned business interests.

He wants ISIS fighters returned to country of origin. Not everyone has a base located out of country to lock up and avoid your local legal due process. So in effect he wants to dump unceremoniously terrorist back in the country of origin without discussion or consideration. Yet he runs concentration camps for refugees fleeing terror in their country. It makes my head hurt.

I know that's what he said, and it's true to the extent that Trump doesn't seem to make money from wars (that's the Bush crime family business), but Trump's motivations aren't to end war.

Trump makes money from hotels, construction, and apparently human trafficking. It's easy to see how betraying the Kurds in service to Turkey and Russia fits Trump's needs. Where will the Kurdish refugees go? I think they'll be trafficked.

the Attorney General of the United States, is globetrotting, getting TV anchors "retired" because the propaganda on said TV station isn't up to the low standards Trump sets for himself, and he's also gathering "evidence" that the Mueller investigation was a "Deep State" hoax. Bill Barr wouldn't want to be left out of this intoxicating stew of corruption!

15. For those who think what Trump is doing is simply supporting an allie

We have supported the Kurds since the 1970s. What is really happening, is one US ally attacking another US ally. This would not be happening if the fat orange traitor had not got into the middle of it. And also, by allowing Turkey to massacre one of our allies, it really helps out little man Putin. And we all know who Trump loves almost as much as his own interests in Turkey. It's his master Putin.

There are many possible outcomes besides the 2 that Trump traitors believe in. It's not a simple choice of moving our military out of the way or leave them to watch the slaughter. How about a well planned meeting to address the issues of both the Kurds and Turkey? How about we support both our allies and attempt a peace treaty? How about we acknowledge Turkey has an authoritarian and cruel dictator in charge and wait out his demise. Why not put as much pressure on their leader as we do on the Venezulian leader?

I served in the military and am no chicken hawk. I've supported my country in time of war. So, all those real chicken hawks who think giving up and watching allies get slaughtered is what the US military is all about are out of their minds. Only a coward like Traitor Trump could have screwed this up so badly.

So you think his bone spurs have healed yet?

A coward leading the brave into surrender.

It was bound to happen the moment Putin put the coward into office with the votes of some of the stupidest Americans.

It is very possible that this is happening because Donald Trump has at least one hotel in Turkey. It is possible Democrats need to demand a printout of the transcript of the conversation between Trump and Erdogan. What was said on both sides of that conversation?

18. Also: it's Putin's plan (pushing Trump on their private calls)
Sat Oct 12, 2019, 10:02 AM
Oct 2019

Putin’s plan has been to get the US out of Syria and split NATO and help Iran.

This does all three things. Now the rest of NATO is angry at Turkey. And Iran will build their positions in Syria. Iran is an ally of Russia.

This is ultimately a story about oligarchy and Russia. This IS the Russia story.

Remember Trump and Putin have regular private calls. Also, Putin’s job in the KGB was to be a handler for agents. He’s ezperienced in how to push and exploit traitors to get them to do Russia’s bidding.

Ultimately, this whole situation is the fault of Republicans and their leadership—the rightwing billionaires that fund and control the likes of Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell and run Fox and the rest of the lying rightwing media.

This is the fault of Rupert Murdoch and the Koch brothers. Until they face consequences, we will not fix America.

they vote in Nov 2020 and make the Repugs feel the pain of their undying support of Trump. We need to depose as many of the Repugs that are running for office in Nov 2020 and take back the WH, the Senate and maintain and grab more seats in the House.

We have to remember that it was compliments of the Repugs that we got Trump as a Rupug primary candidate in the first place. That they embraced him and supported him during the election of 2016 in order to help him get into the WH. And that they continually circle the wagons for him whenever he pushes the envelope of our Constitution and obstructs justice and commits crimes.

This 2020 election needs to be not only about voting out Trump - but also - voting out the Repugs.

1) Ten years ago if you sent this script to a publisher they would have dropped it in the circular file.

2) That said, when the movie comes out that portrays all the fine points you put in your wonderfully composed synopsis, I think we should have DU movie night and make it a meet and greet event.

I think there is only one frame in which to view IQ45 clearly. A frame that gets down to what he's really up to. IQ45 only want's whatever is good for IQ45. And right then, because he can't focus on anything past lunch. He will do and say whatever is good for him at that moment, everything and everyone else be damned. Run everything he says and does in given situations through that algorithm and most of his actions become clear and sensical in a strange, short sighted, uber selfish sort of way. Pure evil, yes, but that's the shit stain we're dealing with.
