MSNBC Or CNN Should Take A Trump Rally And.....

fact check it or refute Trump's ramblings - word for word - just to illustrate how off the wall Trump is and how he lies and makes stories up as he goes along. They should point out how dumb Trump is about our government; the constitution and the law. They should play a sound bite of Trump making a statement - stop the tape - refute or fact check it in real time - and then go on to the next sound bite and do the same thing - until they go through the whole playback of Trump's ramblings from one of his rallies.

Show the 'deplorables' just how much Trump is manipulating them and making them look stupid.

I still would hope that someone in Trump's administration or working in the White House would record Trump (catch him) saying just how much he uses the 'deplorables' to his own advantage and what he really thinks of them when he talks about them as he concocts his talking points for what he calls his campaign rallies in the privacy of the oval office.

I have to think that Trump has a low opinion of his base 'deplorables' and expresses that opinion when he thinks he is in the confidence of the people working around him. He knows how to use and manipulate the 'deplorables' and makes fun of them when he is not in their presence. In other words - be a fly on the wall - record him - and play it back for his base to hear what he really thinks of them.

I believe that would be the straw that would break the camel's back - if the 'deplorables' (his base) would hear right from Trump's mouth - how and what he really thinks and feels about them.

1. The people who need the fact-checking don't watch CNN or MSNBC.

And any attempt at it would be met with howls of "Fake news!" if they saw it. Once somebody is dug in on what they believe, attempts to change their minds with facts just make them dig in deeper. There's no persuading a hard-core Trumpite.

I say don't knock it until we give it a chance. I know that they say that Trump's got a solid 40% base. I think that any percentage of his base that we can take away from him - will be to our advantage. Even if Trump's base don't watch such a fact checking play back of his rally - I think it would help arm anti-Trumpers with ammunition for them to use so that they have the facts that they can throw at Trump supporters that they know.

I have to think that we can chip away at his base - if we do things like I've suggested in my OP.

It pains me just to sit back and let Trump run at the mouth at these rallies and let him get away with his lies.

It's the fucking dog whistle that they listen for. Any semblance of truth and they turn away.

The problem may be volume I mean how many lies he tells. It is the Goebbels effect. He tells lies over and over and even adds new ones made to order. The point is that people who are loyal to him and don't care about the facts, (they may take people's word for things) while the rest of us, as a majority, don't do that or buy in.

My fact check is: every word he says is some form of deceptive lie.

A major focus of Nazi propaganda was Hitler himself, who was glorified as a heroic and infallible leader and became the focus of a cult of personality.[141] Much of this was spontaneous, but some was stage-managed as part of Goebbels' propaganda work.[142] Adulation of Hitler was the focus of the 1934 Nuremberg Rally.

Trump spoke in this manner at the last rally:
I call on you to fight for your city. Fight with everything you have got, for the sake of your wives and your children, your mothers and your parents. Your arms are defending everything we have ever held dear, and all the generations that will come after us. Be proud and courageous!

The Nazi view on propaganda:
Propaganda must always address itself to the broad masses of the people. (...) All propaganda must be presented in a popular form and must fix its intellectual level so as not to be above the heads of the least intellectual of those to whom it is directed. (...) The art of propaganda consists precisely in being able to awaken the imagination of the public through an appeal to their feelings, in finding the appropriate psychological form that will arrest the attention and appeal to the hearts of the national masses. The broad masses of the people are not made up of diplomats or professors of public jurisprudence nor simply of persons who are able to form reasoned judgment in given cases, but a vacillating crowd of human children who are constantly wavering between one idea and another. (...) The great majority of a nation is so feminine in its character and outlook that its thought and conduct are ruled by sentiment rather than by sober reasoning. This sentiment, however, is not complex, but simple and consistent. It is not highly differentiated, but has only the negative and positive notions of love and hatred, right and wrong, truth and falsehood.[5]

Couple Hitler's writings with his coaching by Roy Cohn and we have a monster on our hands. We have to use counter measures to deal with such a monster. We can't let him manipulate us with his lies.

It was only puzzling because I question his literacy, but I imagine he could slog through it and at least get a Sesame Street understanding of it.

Another problem is that the words Hitler and Nazi are so overused, even as propaganda, that pointing out the similarities in the method have less impact or credulity.

I would point out that this is another case about content, (what he says) as much as it is about process, (how he does it). One could miss the forest for the trees in that case. He has a method and the details are secondary.

9. I guess what you're suggesting is that tRump have his Lonesome Roads moment
Sat Oct 12, 2019, 10:48 AM
Oct 2019

in the movie, A Face in the Crowd. Lonesome, unaware his microphone is still on, starts an ugly rant talking ABOUT his audience instead of to it. He says terrible, insulting things about them, revealing how much he loathes and despises them. In the movie, we get to see the shocked and dismayed faces of his followers. Then the anger when they realize what he is saying about them.

I have had similar fantasies about such a moment with tRump. Like you, I suspect behind the scenes, tRump has said awful things about his audience. Surely someone can attest to this?! If there are witnesses, I’m sure they are cowed into silence. But it only takes one or two to come forward with the truth. It is looking like maybe a few are finding their courage. Let us hope that as the cracks are forming, more will find the courage to stop hiding and will step forward to tell what they know. It is way past time for the madness to stop.

He did live commentary fact checking the speech and explaining the lies.

Am I the only one who remembers this?

It was both awesome and horribly sad that it was on a comedy channel.

our democratic presidential candidates too, e.g., the fairness doctrine. Already have enough crap on rump and this analysis of rump's crap (true or not) would be a ratings disaster.
