Despite the fact that it is horrific, and that it depicts him doing something he could never even do, (maybe roll around and sit on some people if he could catch them) now that this is getting around, it may be a tool.
Back to the stochastic, domestic terrorism problem that Trump is.
It's one thing to have a movie, (The Kingsman) depict that, but when it is the pResident doing it, it is only another invitation to his followers to act out. That spells trouble. Real trouble.
Was that their intent? It is gross and deplorable all things considered.

(7,809 posts)It looks like a scene from The Kingsman. It's a very violent movie, rated R.
That scene was kinda sick, but the violence was that overly done, obviously fake blood flying everywhere, and churchpeople performing gymnastics that ordinary people just aren't able to do.
But.... to put agent orange's face on Colin Firth's body and news outlets' logos over the faces of victims crossed the line. Those people have no sense of what is appropriate and what is not.

(12,470 posts)Sociopaths are the ones who have no consience.
Blame Narcissism sociopathy and authoritarian people. Don't drag traumatized people, schizophrenics,or depressed people. Or others that suffer mental illnesses they are less violent than normal people.
I get sick of the stigma.
Jarqui
(10,125 posts)Further, if I were doing a paper for the New England Journal of Medicine, I might try to distinguish which sorts of mental health conditions might apply and which might not.
But this is a post on a political web site. Not a medical website. So I'm not going to try to sort out which particular mental health problems might apply.
But when you do get around to looking into it, you'll find for example that contrary to you above, some schizophrenics do commit violent acts. So that broad brush doesn't apply in all cases either. In fact, they still do not really know all that they should or need to. It's is very complicated and there is much more yet to be learned than what we presently know.
I think moist of us would agree that a "normal" (which is a term that is up for debate) person would not be inspired to kill members of the media after watching such a video.
The stigma is going to be an ongoing problem because we really don't know much definitively beyond that. There's a lot of work to be done. You can cite a gazillion papers but it is still something being debated and studied.

(10,125 posts)I also have a long history of experiences with a variety of mental health conditions in family, friends and co-workers. And I've worked in mental health facilities.
"Sociopaths ... Narcissism sociopathy and authoritarian people" as you claim are NOT the only mental health conditions capable of acting violently against others. Where does pyromania fit? We had one nearly burn down our facility.
"Don't drag traumatized people, schizophrenics,or depressed people. Or others that suffer mental illnesses they are less violent than normal people."
That is simply not accurate. For example:
Violent behaviour among people with schizophrenia: a framework for investigations of causes, and effective treatment, and prevention
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2606714/
Robust evidence has accumulated showing that individuals who develop schizophrenia are at elevated risk when compared to the general population to engage in violence towards others.
http://ijcnmh.arc-publishing.org/editions/15/articles/165
Patients diagnosed with schizophrenia are four to six times more likely to commit a violent crime than the general population.
Some studies say it is lower - like 2.5 times the general population for example. We do not have precise numeric consensus but we have established an elevated incidence of violence towards others with schizophrenia.
Violence and Schizophrenia
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3160236/
A focus on criminal records substantially underestimates the prevalence of aggressive behavior in schizophrenia, and the burden of caring/coping with aggression, threats of violence, and violent acts falls on family members, clinical care staff, those who share housing, police, and staffs of emergency rooms and jails. As Torrey suggests in this issue, the field may have failed to adequately address violence in part due to our eagerness to reduce stigma by emphasizing that persons with schizophrenia are more likely to be victims than perpetrators.
Schizophrenia is but one example.
Like nearly every other mental health affliction, it is complex. There are many factors to consider along with it
No one wants one suffering mental health problems to be burdened with a stigma.
However, we cannot be Trumpian and ignore the basic facts and statistics - even though they are compromised as being very early in our understanding of mental health illnesses.
Act_of_Reparation
(9,116 posts)...that most violent criminals are not mentally ill? Or that most mentally ill people are not violent?
I'd put good money against your anecdotal experiences that virtually anyone taking up a gun in the name of a political goal is most likely not mentally ill.

(9,092 posts)That there is a denial or an outrage at the suggestion that this video could incite certain people with certain mental illnesses, only adds to the feeling that too many of us live in an alternate reality.

I guess it's the same type of person, but I don't know if it's the same person or group. The video that showed up on DU was on a Trump Emperor of Mankind channel, then there are whole bunch of Trump Emperor videos and they're all slightly different!!!
