Instead, Perdue's view that smaller producers were likely to go out of business at the expense of bigger producers left many who had travelled far and wide to attend the meeting feeling despondent.
"Now what we see, obviously, is economies of scale having happened in Americabig get bigger and small go out," Perdue said on October 1.
"It's very difficult on economies of scale with the capital needs and all the environmental regulations and everything else today to survive milking 40, 50, 60 or even 100 cows, and that's what we've seen," Perdue added, according to The Associated Press.

Its the National Farm Bureau, strong in Dixie and the solid red states, that will vote Republican at all costs.

(37,364 posts)could deign get to rural America and pretend like the care about the people who live the there rather than engaging in endless mocking and insults. Dems could help us keep between presidential races.
Perhaps the coastal urban areas can note that our children go to them. When the seas drown the cities, they will come looking for us.

(25,337 posts)Rural Texas voted to keep their goons even though: Schools are closing, hospitals and doctors are gone from counties (Not lots of farming where I live...some ranching, but mostly just land with some cattle. The money making part went away decades ago)
