Paul Ryan says he listens to elevator music. While Ryan likes Led Zep (who started before he was born and whose members are the same age as Mitt) The only quote I have found is a Romneyesque "I like all music."
He was 17 when the Beatles were on Sullivan and came of age at the heart of Rock and Roll. He should like The Beatles, The Stones, Pink Floyd, The Who etc...
Or maybe lighter fair like the Mamas and the Papas, The Loving Spoonful and Donovan. And what does he think of Dylan?
Ryan's remarks sound like he listens to Perry Como and Mitch Miller. But he is too young for that.
So what does Mitt like and why?

(49,028 posts)In a new interview with Parade, Mitt Romney and his wife Ann offered some insight into their musical tastes and a wishlist of acts they'd like to see perform at the White House, should the Republican presidential nominee win the election in November.
The list includes the Beach Boys "Even though I know it's not the same group it used to be," Romney noted and country stars like Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney and Toby Keith. Romney also name-checked bands like Aerosmith and Alabama, while his wife who revealed a preference for jazz, pop, rock, and classical music noted that the Romneys have a friend in the Eagles. (Former lead guitarist Don Felder is slated to play the Republican National Convention next week.)
The most unexpected band on Romney's list of favorites? "The Killers are one group I enjoy," he said. The band's lead singer, Brandon Flowers, is Mormon.
Romney conceded that not all of his favorite acts might perform for a Republican-led White House. "These are not all Republicans, by the way. Some may turn us down."

(50,130 posts)Look at the difference in their attitudes and manners. Even George W. is more generationally appropriate than Mitt is.
Mitt seems to be more a peer of Bob Dole than of his own generation which is early Boomers.

(4,528 posts)He is the class of '65 and that is the line of demarcation. That age is more than likely to like Elvis, Dion and the Belmonts and that type of music. Knowing him it was probably the "choir".
