Dmitry Firtash, charged with conspiracy by the U.S. and living in Vienna, shuffled lawyers in July to add Joe diGenova and Victoria Toensing, vocal supporters of President Donald Trump who had worked with Giuliani. Around that time, some of Firtashs associates began to use his broad network of Ukraine contacts to get damaging information on Biden, the people said.

(16,616 posts)Even if you are just some outsider in need of help from Trump you could invent something negative about one of his opponents and easily get his attention. He cultivated a culture where it became tempting for damn-near anybody to dig up or concoct conspiracy stories that would appeal to him, Giuliani, Pompeo, or any other principles. Staggeringly dangerous. Imagine that Saudi Arabia's MsB could get presidential forgiveness for killing Khashoggi by inventing something negative about Biden, Warren, etc...

(11,742 posts)They can find nothing implicating Vice President Biden at all. Either Democrats are exceptionally good criminals while Republicans are horrible criminals OR... Republicans are just criminals and Democrats are typically not.
I go with the latter. Republicans always seem to get caught up in these conspiracies or human trafficking, or with child porn, etc... while despite years of investigations Democratic lawmakers are relatively scandal free. Hmm...
