Those are tough places for Dems, and Dem turnout does seem to be low in special elections.

It looks like we have lost a little of our mojo .Poor Dem base turnout in NC-10 and LA. Governor' s race .. I will become concerned if Bevan is re-elected Governor of Kentucky ..He is very unpopular - yet tied in the latest poll I saw

But we tend to do fairly well in presidential elections, and we did much better than usual in the most recent mid-term of 2018.
I'm hopeful we'll have good turnout in 2020. It's shenanigans (and a desperate party taking desperate action) that worries me most.

They had high base turnout and still got their asses kicked. Pretty sure Trump has done nothing at all to expand his base.
