He thinks or "knows" that Trump will self destruct, or be impeached and removed, and he'll be the last man standing.
It's hard to admit that he could be right. But he could well be the Republican nominee, and he could well be the next president.
Let me say this. No Republican should be president for the next 30-50 years. They are a criminal organization, and whoever their candidate is, he will be forced to play by their rules. Romney will be as much a slave to GOP dogma as Trump is.
Given where we are today, voting for a Republican, any Republican, at any level of government, is nothing more than a death wish.
Republicans have destroyed whatever we once called America. And they will crush us to dust for their own profit, power, and their absolute control of our lives.
Anyone who ever votes for any Republican, for any office, for any reason, is either a fool or will never "get it" until they are living under total control by those in power.

(26,044 posts)Hed get his ass handed to him by the True Believer majority. And that would still be the case in 2024 should Cheetolini manage to steal another term.
What Pierre is banking on is the walls caving in on Trump enough scandals coming thick-and-fast that even his own party removes him from office and then tries to pretend they never supported him in the first place.

(4,461 posts)... disrespecting trump? Any chance he could pull enough of the deplorable base to compete in a general election just completely and irretrievably evaporated.
Maybe Pierre Delecto could run as an independent.

(15,384 posts)I don't think he has the spine to actually take on Trump. Anyway, it's rare for a political party to run a previous loser of a past presidential election in another presidential election, and conservative religious nutjobs have to be exhausted by now, betraying their so-called values by propping up Trump. They already pretended that they weren't referring to Mormonism as a cult prior to (AND after) 2012 but always thought of it as a legitimate sect of Christianity. They don't want to have to do that again.
