24. I grew up in East TN. Color me NOT surprised at all.

Back in the late 1990s, I was riding with a black, male friend in a truck, near the Obed wild & scenic river in East TN, when we were shot at by two white men after they yelled “Hey! N_____!” at us. Yikes! It was terrifying. My friend is not an American and he was shocked.

There were KKK living out in the county near the town where I grew up. They would hold fundraising drives while in full KKK robes and pointy hats! This was back in the late 1970s.

I was home this past weekend. My sister (R - talk radio listener - never reads the papers - no college degree - Harley Rider - gun owner) became angry with me and accused me of being a “Democrat and probably a communist!”

I wanted to tell her she was exactly the person to whom the “I love the uneducated!” comment was directed, but she wouldn’t have had a clue to what I was referring.

I wanted to tell her the communist nation, China, is currently brutally suppressing human rights and democracy in Hong Kong and that MF45 is totally OK with that. But, she doesn’t have a fucking clue.
