to explain to Donald and Lindsey to their faces that people who were literally lynched.... died. Not metaphorically but literally. Lynching is not a metaphor for mistreatment or torture. It was murder. Has Trump been murdered? If so, seems like we should know.

A "witch hunt" generally concluded with the capture and execution by torture of the woman or women deemed to be witches, but that phrase is an acceptable metaphor.
