"Repubs took cellphones into the secure area, which is a huge violation"

Geoff Bennett ✔ @GeoffRBennett

Laura Cooper’s scheduled deposition has been upended by a group of House Republicans storming the hearing room, members say. Repubs took cellphones into the secure area, which is a huge violation. We’re told the room will need a security sweep before the deposition can continue.

I think you're spot-on - slo-mo, but a coup against the Constitution, totally.

for some time now, based on their behaviors and reactions and Trump's clear and intense disdain for our Constitution and democracy.

It is moving in slow motion and it is not the kind we might expect, but then, nobody says it happens in the same way as in other countries and times.

Subverting the Oath of Office by NOT defending the US Constitution.

These tactics are going to cost them.

Up until now, worried and scared. But now, real fear at the possibility of them succeeding with this coup attempt. It appears that they truly will stop at nothing.

It may be a slap on the wrist but at least they have to receive the censure publicly.

"...a censure is "a form of public shaming in which the politician must stand before his peers to listen to the censure resolution"."

That is what they did to disrupt the Florida recount in the year 2000, stormed in and disrupt everything to create chaos

Wait!!? Republicans tried to storm a Secure Classified Information Facility (SCIF) where TOP SECRET +++ information is stored & shared? ITS A TOP SECRET FACILITY RUN BY THE CIA/DOD & GUARDED BY TS/SCI CLEARED ARMED POLICE. This isn’t a joke anymore. Charge them with trespass.
Penalty for unauthorized entry is immediate suspension of their SECRET clearances & their photos at guard shed for future forceable removal.
