Unprecedented times we are living in

I see no direct parallels in history. I can see plenty of similarities with the fascists of Germany and Italy and others. But there are lots of differences too. I was thinking this morning how economic collapse played into the fascists, but our home grown fascist has come about during a time of prosperity.

Anyone think of something other than the early-mid 20th century? Also, I’d point out that the Nazis came to power at a time of new technology that allowed them to indoctrinate the masses, radio and films. Now have the internet.
