Eichenwald: There will be consequences...

The consequences of @RepMattGaetz and the Merry Morons in storming a SCIF:

None will ever pass a FBI background check for a higher position.

None will ever be allowed access to classified information.

You cant blithely break laws on SCIFs and think there are no consequences.

IN MY OPINION, none of these Republicans, some quite prominent in leadership, will suffer future rejected Security Clearances by the FBI. That's not the way DC has ever worked. Its wishful thinking.

If it ever happens, I'll be the 1st to admit I was wrong.

I’m just wishfully thinking.

But, exposing classified information like this or through other means, such as leaks, should be taken quite seriously.

Gaetz himself can't have his clearance revoked. I hope every single fucking staffer who went in with him has theirs revoked forever, though.

I called up my Republican representative's office (Tom Rice) and asked the person that answered if he was one of apparently ~30 traitorous fools that pulled this stunt -- the staffer said that he was not.

I'm skeptical there will be. Dems are doing all they can to catalog the crimes of the repuke syndicate let alone prosecute them all. It's just not possible or practical to go after all of them and the GrOPers are counting on just that.
