The founding fathers never envisioned a political party protecting a lawless president...

The repubs are happy to break the law by storming a deposition. They are willing to lie and give cover to an amoral and law-breaking president.

These are sad and dark times.

their argument in court this morning (Federal Appeals Court for 2nd District) about why the Manhattan D.A. can't have the tax returns needed for a grand jury investigation into potential criminal tax fraud, etc (tweet from a WaPo reporter has the audio clip of one of the most draw-dropping arguments regarding the example of the President "shooting someone on Fifth Avenue" ) -
