(115,732 posts)to get over his tantrum when he realizes he isn't getting the attention he wanted. That was the smart thing to do, because those dipshits clearly *wanted* to get arrested and dragged away by Capitol police because this would be tasty red meat for the MAGAts. Arresting them might also have violated the Speech or Debate Clause in the Constitution, which says members of Congress can't be arrested while they are acting as members of Congress. I'm sure the Dems didn't want to be accused of that. But the important thing is that they just let them have their tantrum and eat their pizza, and finally they went away when they saw nothing was going to happen. Then the deposition was restarted and I think it's still in progress.
Of course Gaetz et al. violated the rules about cell phones in SCIPs, so we'll see what's done about that.
