but he can be charged for his criminal offenses. Members of Congress cannot be arrested while acting as a member of Congress, but they can be charged for crimes they comit at any time.

Treason, breach of the peace, or a felony are all grounds for a member of Congress to be arrested, regardless of them serving in their respective chamber.

Gaetz and his cohorts definitely committed a felony by breaking into a SCIF with electronic devices compromising national security.
