i was listening to some of his show today and he said his fb page was taken down; his show's fb page is still up but his personal page was taken down at fb. he said he had to upload a copy of his driver's license (and he did it six times) but it was still down and there is no one to contact.
he also said he was having essentially the same problem here at du.
did anyone else catch this part of his show? (i don't think i heard the entire thing.) or anyone know what happened?
just wondering

(1,096 posts)He said he was kicked off democraticunderground and had no idea why.
I can't imagine what could be going on here.

(7,435 posts)I also heard him make a negative comment about one of the long time regular posters on DU.
I don't know anything about the hierarchy of people running DU. I wonder if Hartmann said something that pushed him out, like offending someone in a position of power.

(1,096 posts)is that legitimate reason to ban someone like Thom Hartmann? Really?

his work with RT
ironically this thread may be at risk if it is deemed to interfere with forum moderation

(90,867 posts)It is not that hard to check his profile.
My recollection is that every time something like this happens, the person is experiencing some glitch in their very own computer.
Please contact him and let him know.

(34,086 posts)and i didn't think i could do a search here because i don't have a star
if i can do a poster name search --then it's been so long since i've tried i've forgotten how.
anyway, i'm glad to hear he's still here.
now wtf is with fb?? (i don't expect you to know but if his computer was hiccuping here maybe that would explain the fb crap. or maybe he's too blatant about his views on the king of fb--i don't know

(90,867 posts)...it values truth. I doubt Thom got up their nose in any significant way, all things considered.
Periodically checking ID seems reasonable -- after all, DU itself periodically logs its members off and requires they log in again.
As for fb's motives, who knows? Maybe they want to tell detractors they're trying to rein in bots or something.

(41,182 posts)Lee Camp, Jessie Ventura and son Tyrel, Sean Stone (son of Oliver) and other American media figures have, or have had shows on RT in the last 5+ years. Thom adds another voice for democracy and reason, especially needed in the current US consolidated news media atmosphere.

(13,167 posts)I still havent provided it. I engaged in lots of political wars with Republiclowns there.
I have heard from at least two other nonpolitical people who were also required to send them ID and were reactivated.
