Rachel Maddow tweet:US Justice Dept's argument for staying Mueller grand jury docs embarrasing

We have seen a lot of nutball filings from a lot of, uh, colorful lawyers in the various Trump era scandals.

To see this kind of terrible work from US Justice Department lawyers is a whole different level of embarrassment.

FWIW, this argument by DOJ in its brief asking Howell for a stay is not correct. Pelosi has never "announced" that the impeachment inquiry would exclude Mueller-related charges.

The story they cite doesn't suggest it either.

Stories in the Washington Post totally carry the weight of a legal argument, particularly in the absence of any statutory law or case precedent that would support a party's position.

That based on information collected since Sept 29th that the scope has expanded (if it matters).
