The Ukraine scandal just grew much larger.

Maddow reported about a Washington post story. It looks like Rudy went to Ukraine in 2017 and got them to stop their Black Ledger investigation. The Black ledger was where they found Manafort's name listed. It looks like Ukraine also stopped cooperating with the Mueller investigation about the same time.

Soon afterwards the President Of Ukraine got the meeting he had wanted with Trump.

This is going to spin out of control on Trump. Rudy is in big trouble.

Interesting idea that Dumpy may have (stupidly) thought his call with Zelensky was "perfect" because...he had gotten away with his previous quid pro quo(s) without any consequences.

Maybe the Ignatius article lays out a potential timeline for the quids and the quos and the characters involved.

Extortion would be reach for the average Trump supporter.

I thought it was strange back then. Why didn't Mueller investigate it? Why didn't Mueller say something to the the House? Why did Mueller just roll over much like Comey and his stupid letter.

Once honorable people rolling over for treats from Trump.

This was before Zelenskyy was elected and if I remember correctly, Poroshenko was extremely corrupt himself. So he was probably happy to work with Trump and Rudy.

Poroshenko was nothing compared with Yanukovych, who drained billions out of the treasury for his own gain and ended up fleeing for Russia after Maidan.

Fact is, the Russians seemed to favor Zelensky over Poroshenko because Zelensky was so young and inexperienced and they figured he’d be a pushover. Whether that is the case remains to be seen. They certified didn’t like Poroshenko because he was resisting their actions in the east.

Poroshenko was no angel but there is no such thing as the perfect politician in Ukraine. According to my relatives at least basic services improved under Poroshenko from Yanukovych such as paving major roads.

Poroshenko was probably placed in the exact same situation as Zelensky was; play ball with Trump or get steamrolled by Russia.

Just from reading some general articles awhile back I had the impression that Poroshenko was pretty bad. I couldn't even tell you the sources now, so maybe they were not all that reliable. I hope for the people's sake that Zelenskyy will be a good choice.
