I am looking forward to a trial in the Senate.

It will be interesting to watch Republicans twist themselves into pretzels trying to defend Donald Trump.

What will they do when they have to address an issue directly and cannot distract from the issue at hand?

How far will they go to make themselves look foolish?

The entertainment value should be very high.

I think in the immediate future we will see more stunts, like when they interrupted the SCIF that day and the boxes from this week.

2. Their current tactic is to acknowledge the quid pro quo, say it wasn't illegal

(it was), and argue it's done all the time. The truth is, conditions are set on U.S. largess to forward our nation's security. In this case, the sole provable reason for withholding military funds from Ukraine was to obtain actions that benefit Trump's political campaign. And that's illegal.

Expect the GOP to use the "Our country does it all the time, so what's the big deal?" card as the case progresses. It's all they've got left.

They will devise complete conspiracy theories lacking even a shred of sense. They will inform everyone that the person convicted twice of fraud just since being elected is actually concerned one iota about corruption, when that is his very nature.

4. I won't mind if Articles Of Impeachment aren't sent to the Senate until after the general election.

That'll make the reTHUGS sweat and give tRUMP plenty of time to realize that resignation is the
best way out for him. That being said, a fair and secure election is the best way to achieve a good outcome for Democrats, no matter what.

5. Turtleman won't allow an extensive trial

IMO, gonna be over in 3 minutes, long enough for the chinless one to say, "Let's vote." The whole point of the trial is to immortalize the crimes of Trump et al. If we can, maybe we can wake some of those people up enough to be horrified before the trial, but from what we've seen of their behavior, they are cowards and won't go against OM. Party Over Country, and Trump will threaten them with death if they go along with impeachment.

I hope that we follow through no matter what Trump cooks up to stop it. He could easily have us in a war just to save his own *ss. Look neither to the right nor the left, but straight ahead to getting rid of Trump.
