(16,616 posts)1. It wasn't extortion. 2. There's nothing wrong with extortion, at least it's not impeachable. He wants to stick with "no quid pro quo" but he's opening the door to this other possibility now, in case republicans defect.
This is pretty much in keeping with what the panelists on CNN and MSNBC were predicting he'd do.
