The current discussion of a "wealth tax" reminded me of a protest sign we saw several years ago.

My wife and I were a part of a crowd of over 100,000 gathered in support of labor at the state Capitol in Madison, Wisconsin. As we circled the Capitol building, liberal wit was on constant display on the hundreds of hand-lettered protest signs. One stuck in my memory:

"If you don't start taxing the rich we're gonna hafta start eating them!"

jobs, climate change, etc., we better make darn sure we have a bunch of billionaires making a lot of money. .

Eating them, is probably not a long-term strategy.
