The orange jackoff says they "got caught between two vicious drug cartels, who were shooting at each other" which doesn't seem to match the details of what happened unsurprisingly. They were on the highway in 3 cars and the most popular theory seems to be mistaken identity.

I found it oddly coincidental that the CBS news article mentioned a direct relative who was murdered in 2009 for being an "anti-crime activist" in Chihuahua ... that makes me suspect it may not have been an accident.
