.In his updated testimony, Mr. Sondland recounted how he had discussed the linkage with Andriy Yermak, a top adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine, on the sidelines of a Sept. 1 meeting between Vice President Mike Pence and Mr. Zelensky in Warsaw. Mr. Zelensky had discussed the suspension of aid with Mr. Pence, Mr. Sondland said.
Unless my memory is playing tricks on me, this is the first time the Pence has been explicitly tied to the quid pro quo. Pences previous testimony have been the usual favorite of VPs throughout history: he was out of the loop and knew nothing. But if Sondland is to be believed, thats not true.
So now it looks like pretty much everyone knew about Trumps extortion of Ukraine. - Mother Jones
We'll need to speak to you now too, Mr. Vice pResident.

(421 posts)That's drumpf's real motivation. By chaining himself to Pence, drumpf is inoculating himself from Rs voting to impeach in the Senate considering Rs would never allow Pelosi to ascend to the presidency. The 33% crazy for cocopuffs Faux News base wouldn't allow it either.
Pence could go first but like Gerald Ford, can you imagine someone like VP McCarthy becoming president?
I would think that is equally nightmarish for Democrats. I can't stand that dishonest weasel.

(12,504 posts)if I could stand in front of Pence and ask "Mikey, what's it like being a very devout christian that strongly believes in the 10 Commandments, and at the same time lying to me and the public about your involvement as an enabler in the Ukraine extortion scheme?"
I would really like to hear a republican, any republican, tell the damn Truth for chrissakes.

I was just wondering....IF it looks like Pence is up to his albino eyebrows in all this, and he is also in danger of being impeached, could Trump just ask for Pence's resignation, and appoint a "clean" VP to make sure the job doesn't go to Nancy?

(16,113 posts)Doesnt he also need to testify that Trump told him to do this? Otherwise, Trump can just say that Sondland did this on his own?
