Poll workers reported steady voter turnout early Tuesday. Polls close at 8 p.m. Anyone whos in line at 8 p.m is entitled to vote.
Lines snaked through the halls and out into the parking lot at the Central Bucks Senior Center in Doylestown early Tuesday, where voters headed to the polls to help determine who will govern area neighborhoods, run school boards and lead other local offices.
Watching as the line grew, Stan Durey, a Democratic committeeperson, said higher turnouts were expected this year. I think we are ahead of schedule for a municipal year election, so were encouraged.
Last springs municipal primary election attracted just under 15% of registered voters, and only 27% of voters turned out for the last time the county commissioners topped the ballot in November 2015.
Charles Draus, of Doylestown Township, came out to vote because of the high stakes involved.
I think this is a precursor to the national elections, said Draus, who brought his 14-year-old daugther, Sienna Draus, with him to the polls.
All three commissioner seats were up for grabs in both Bucks County and Montgomery County. Voters were also casting votes for three new judges in each county and two for the state Superior Court.

(9,267 posts)Line took more than an hour. Never took that long before even in POTUS years. Unfortunately this township keeps re-electing the RWNJ township supervisor who posts horrible misogynistic and other offensive crap on his FB page.
