This isn't the most important implication, but the fact that Trump was speaking to Sondland -- who was using a cell phone in Ukraine -- almost certainly means the Russians were listening, too.
Imagine the leverage that knowledge of Trump's betrayal and extortion gave them.

William Taylor details NEW info from a July 26 event: One of Taylor's staffers heard Gordon Sondland on the phone with Trump, "asking Ambassador Sondland about 'the investigations.' Ambassador Sondland told President Trump that the Ukrainians were ready to move forward."

Sondland calling Trump on a cellphone from Kyiv is extraordinary for all sorts of reasons. Normally EU Ambos dont call presidents. They never do so to discuss Ukraine policy. Doing so on a cellphone from Kyiv means whole world was listening in.
