Why the obsession with Hunter Biden?

I think it was more than just getting dirt on Joe Biden before 2020. I think he specifically wanted to go after Hunter because he knew, porobably from internal polling, that his kids, specifically Don Jr. and Eric, but Javanka too, increased his disapproval ratings. Like the GOP always does, they try to throw their own weakness on their opponent. And no one does this more than Trump.

In true narcissism fashion, all narcs have a target. Right now, Joe Biden is the target. Narcs will go after everyone around you to get to you. My best friend's ex-husband is a malignant narcissist when she divorced him he went after their children, her parents, and her friends.

If Sanders, or Warren, or Yang was a threat to Trump's reelection, he would go after them. However, it's Biden who is his biggest threat so he is the one he goes after.

It’s so infuriating the way they try to stir up controversy with headlines like that. Ill informed people see them and it plants a seed of doubt.

9. Hunter's mea culpa shows why it was important

I frankly don't like the relatives of powerful people who trade upon their name to get ahead in line. It isn't going to change how I will vote, but it does fit the narrative.

As with anything Trump whines about him and his family are far worse and even criminal in their behavior. As far as I can tell, the Bidens did nothing criminal.

Biden is probably my second or third choice. I think Warren and Sander's proposals are too extreme, but I will happily pull the lever of any of the three if my first and second choice don't make it to the nomination.

By casting suspicion on a Democrat's kid, they are targeting Trump's base. Trump's base is already primed to direct their anger at a Democrat... ANY Democrat, so if they can hang on the possibility of any Democratic impropriety, they will excuse Trump committing almost any crime.

Not to mention, unlike Republicans, many Democrats do actually have concerns about "throwing stones" against the Republicans if there is a remote similarity to things our side can be accused of. The point is that various articles have suggested that some of the people working for the Obama administration were not happy with Hunter Biden's position on the board. It appears that they had no way to force him to step down and they were hesitant to approach Joe Biden at that time.

However, Joe Biden has already acted to counter that by saying that it would not happen in his administration. (Hard to know how that could be really be done if he has a VP or high cabinet officials with adult kids.) It does give Democrats "permission" to question whether Trump will make the same rule .. and actually follow it.

Not to mention, as the testimony showed, Trump himself has violated the emoluments clause as he still does benefit from his hotels -- and he BLATANTLY tried to have the G8 conference at his bedbug ridden, under the flight path to Miami resort.

Trump's campaign sees Joe Biden as the biggest threat in 2020. They hoped to undercut his support by faking a scandal involving his kid, then linking Joe to the scandal.

No need to overthink this. It's likely not any more complicated than that.
