So, Trump can hold off until there is some other distraction.

I would assume it would just after the Senate fails to convict on the impeachment.

I don't see a benefit for Trump in pardoning Stone. He doesn't seem to give a shit about anybody, even those who are supposed on his side.

Trump is better of pardoning Stone than not.

Trump's loony base loves Roger Stone. Plus, Stone knows where too many bodies are buried. He's crazy like Gordon Liddy, but without the conviction.

I would expect a full-on Victory Tour, along with pardons for any of his loyalists.

That Drump can issue a pardon, to accept it Roger must admit guilt. Which could be problematic for Drump.

but Trump is mostly driven by his emotions of the minute (or 'gut' as he says).
In these situations Trump often relies on covering the problem with outrageous lies. It has worked to some degree so far.
