1. How can you not K&R this?

These are they type of stories that are told in bars, bowling allies and church socials all across the country. The (R)s going all gung ho about stripping these benefits, along with the drug coverage for seniors and the ability to keep children on your policy until age 26, is going to be their undoing.

Lemme guess, the people that are disgusted with this woman's life being saved call themselves 'Christians'.

But, I have a sense of satisfaction in knowing that the republicans are going to have to explain favoring policies that would have had a tragic ending.

11. Yes. Insurance Corporations can NOT discriminate against people with pre-Existing Conditions.

However, they CAN and DO discriminate against Americans who do NOT have a Bag Full of Money.
This particular reform HAS helped a few Americans in the Upper Middle/Wealthy Class who can afford the Buy In for these high premium policies.

So far, that is about 16% of the people who have been denied coverage due to Pre-Existing Conditions.

12. I guess my husband and I are lucky..
Fri Jan 6, 2012, 01:12 PM

we're far from wealthy. We live paycheck to paycheck. My husband had a heart attack a little more than a year ago, he's on a bunch of meds. We have insurance through his job, and we're not paying out the wazoo cuz of a pre-x and we have pretty good coverage.

If a lot of money was needed we'd be screwed.

We pay a portion of our benefits.

He also works 70 plus hours a week.

My husband is on SSDI and has Medicare.

I have no health insurance and can't afford any. I don't think Obamacare will help me.

I am 58. I have a long time to wait for Medicare, if I am even eligible for it.

I don't think I am since I was sent something from SS saying that I wasn't.
