Trump went to Walter Reed in the afternoon for routine lab tests? I don't think so.

I have doubts about this. Fasting lab work is required for most checkups. I know he gets up late, but I doubt he planned to fast until he finished his mini-physical in the afternoon.

...regardless of who the president might happen to be.

Knowing potential physical vulnerabilities of the US president is always useful information, again, regardless of who it might happen to be at any given time.

Despite the fact that the current president is a rancid turd, there is a national interest in maintaining confidentiality in the president's health information.

Saturday afternoon.

You KNOW that NOTHING gets in the way of Trump and golfing, not even the Oval Office.

If Trump gives up golfing, it's safe to bet something important's going on.

Yesterday was 46 and partly sunny in DC...a little nicer than Nov 14, 2018 when he spent the day on the course in the 46 degree drizzle.

So yeah - yesterday was a golf day gone awry.

Did he like to go early in the morning (most people I know like to get these over with)? Were they on Saturdays?

I agree that this entire thing seems bizarre and impromptu.

I mean, I don't doubt that with advance notice Walter Reed would have whoever the POTUS needed and whenever the POTUS needed them. I'm also sure they have staff ready for a POTUS emergency, but if they're sticking with the story that this was 'routine', surely Walter Reed, like every other hospital, has the majority of its staff that handles routine stuff scheduled Mon-Fri.

If was having a panic attack the White House doctor could easily check his pulse and blood pressure and rule out a heart attack. This was more than his doctor(s) at the White House could deal with so they sent him to a hospital.

And furthermore, a lot could be done for a President without sending him to the hospital. They could have drawn blood and driven it to the lab. Could have done an EKG and even a cardiac echo without him having to go to Walter Reed. The only way he would have had to go there is if he had an event that was detected and needed to go for more complex exams. No way did they want these optics unless it was an emergency.

i have no doubt that labs, or even an ekg, would not require him leaving the wh.
