Parents have never had better examples for being studious to show their kids.

and what being slothful leads too as well

I admired them and thought it was a good idea. I’d start doing it for awhile and then let it drop. Too lazy I guess. I also tried to get stuff in writing. I’m glad we have a few of the conscientious people around.

held several positions where maintaining a journal was part of the job requirements. It prompted me to maintain a personal one as well. I had private considerations during times of those I had to maintain professionally.

It's an excellent idea, too. I take extensive notes when I meet with clients in my work. I don't take notes during our meeting, but write a detailed account of the meeting immediately afterward, typically on my laptop or notebook computer. During the meeting, I work from a set of questions that need answers from the person I'm meeting with. I might jot a word or two on the page with the questions, but I go into detail after the meeting.

I make similar notes anytime I meet with anyone where what is discussed is important. Mortgage lenders, car salespeople, etc. Those notes make it easy for me to remember exactly what was discussed, even weeks later.

But, it's not something most people do. And i wasn't trained to do it in school, either.

Because all of their conversations are on KIK, Tumblr, Houseparty and others. They don’t actually ‘speak’ to each other.
