This may surprise people who only know Devin Nunes’s recent record, but in late 2015 Nunes told me during a long interview in his office that he was extremely concerned about the rise of conspiracy theorists in the Republican Party:

i was at the doc the other day, discussing when i could resume drugs for my bones, after a hiatus for dental problems.
i had a scan that showed that i was starting to lose bone. he told me the jaw thing is very, very rare. i trust him, so i am going back on it.

as it happens my sister is losing her bones but doesnt trust the meds. she is otherwise quite intelligent, but she has a strong bias she doesnt see. i told him about her, and how concerned it was.

i told the doc- we really suck at evaluating risk these days. his eyes took a quick look at his brain as he nodded.

bothsiderism is killing us.
