What Trump doesn't realize because he never served in the military is that, unlike Trump, members of

the military have integrity. Even when they do something wrong, they know that their actions have bought shame on their unit, their families, and in this case, the US Navy as a whole. Accepting the punishment meted down from the top is their first step in making themselves whole again; accepting their punishment that the Corp would have handed down; and asking forgiveness for the shame that they have brought upon the unit, their families, and the U.S. Navy.

Since Trump has never been part of anything bigger than himself, he has no clue what this means to those who are part of something larger than themselves. I assure you that this sailor will not allow himself to accept Trump's pardon, something that Trump will never be able to understand. Trump has grown up in an environment where he got everything he wanted, for doing nothing. My guess is that the majority of these sailors come from humble beginnings, probably with a Dad, a Brother or an Uncle who also served, where things like Duty, Honor, Country actually meant something. Trump, the spoiled little rich bitch, doesn't understand what that means having not worked or sacrificed for anything in his life; and never having suffered a real consequence when he broke the rules, or committed some major transgression.

These sailors would probably have welcomed back this guy into their unit, after having served whatever sentence was meted down; but I doubt that he will accept it now because I doubt that he would feel worthy at this time. Part of what happens when you commit such an egregious act is you go through a process, of: acknowledging your mistake; showing remorse; seeking forgiveness from those you've hurt (this would include those in your unit); and showing that you acknowledge your mistake and have changed for the better.

This process takes time, and it should. But if you are sincere, you will eventually be forgiven by those you have harmed by your actions, and you will find forgiveness within yourself.

Trump took all these steps away from this guy, by prematurely giving him a pardon which he had not earned, nor deserved. By doing so, he has interfered with the entire punishment/remorse/forgiveness/acceptance process. My guess is that this guy will either quit the Navy, or will be found dead somewhere; all because Trump had to jump in and try and make things right (his way), instead of how the way the forgiveness process works in the real world.

Damn you Trump!!!!!
