(146,329 posts)No, seriously, I've never had Lebanon bologna.

(31,261 posts)The stuff currently on the market tastes nothing like the Bologna that I had as a child. I didn't read about the origin of the Bologna, but I would not be surprised to find it came from Cuba or a Central or South American country that doesn't ban certain curing techniques. The old stuff tasted much better, IMO.
If you have ever eaten a Cuban sandwich that was made with meat from Cuba, that too is nothing like the Cuban sandwiches that are sold here in Florida. The Cuban meat adds depth and flavor to the sandwich that the local stuff simply can't match.

Well, a man can dream...

(35 posts)If they also found about 200 pounds of black market cream cheese and large amounts of Worcestershire Sauce, onions, and Ritz Crackers, someone may have been planning a monumental bologna cake. (There are alternatives, but one requirement is that the chef must have been born in a state that fought with the Confederacy in the War of Northern Aggression.)

(14,961 posts)would talk about bologna cake, it sounds awful. Of course anything with cream cheese is good, so maybe I would try it.
