Tucker Carlson has admitted that President Donald Trump lies incessantly ― and his defense is that being a BS artist is just who Trump is.
During Wednesday nights edition of Tucker Carlson Tonight, the Fox News host brought up a recent Washington Post article that counted the presidents lies since taking office as being at more than 13,000 false claims. He conceded that the president does, in fact, tell lies. To demonstrate his point, he brought up one of Trumps most famous tall tales: the claim that the crowd at his inauguration was the largest of all time.
Were not going to lie to you. That was untrue, Carlson said. The crowd at the 2017 inauguration was not the largest ever measured on the National Mall. Sorry. It wasnt.
Why did the president claim it was? Carlson asked. Well, because thats who he is. Donald Trump is a salesman: A talker, a boaster, a compulsive self-promoter. At times, hes a full-blown BS artist.

(4,066 posts)Carlson was actually correct for a bit. I didn't agree with the whole BS monologue, but he was correct that, "That's just who he is." Most people don't want that in a President though.

(58,785 posts)but Fox is failing conservatives who want to believe the old, happy, hopeful lines, not the fall-back "live-or-die in the bunker ones.
I won't be asking our youngish fishing friend, who can no longer even read National Geographic or watch the nature documentaries he used to enjoy because they're liberal propaganda, what Fox's changes are doing to him. I could only wonder before at how unhappy he must be at the world he imagines and at what that looked like to him.
