Next month we'll have recreational 'jazz cabbage' sales in Illinois.

I illegally smoked the stuff from high school until my late 30's, but backed away due to scarcity* and the possibility of hefty penalties being imposed, if caught.
*Until she moved away, I used to get weed from my neighbor, who is a mental health counselor.

I'm pleased that so many Illinoisans will have their cannabis convictions expunged, as I'm certain it's kept many folks from employment/career advancement.
It will be a real sea change for me to be able to walk into a dispensary and purchase legal weed.

Hoping Santa will bring me some fun paraphernalia this year.

We have five dispensaries in our town. What a difference from the days of contraband.

the MMJ dispensaries will be the only game in town until other licenses are approved over the summer.
Hopefully we'll get to the point where you can get weed at gas stations and other outlets.

Not sure about all of the dabbing and whatnot.
I'll probably stick with flower for a while, maybe some hash.
I may be open to the vape pen thing, but will need to seek out more information on that aspect.

Where you can smoke socially.

I think you’re fine to check out vape pens, it is the black market ones that are causing trouble, dabbing is a little more involved and requires some additional equipment.

Enjoy! We’re living in the future!

I don't think I've ever heard it before. Given how they have been named I think a marijuana dispensary called Joke Flower Wellness would sweep the market.

is a big deal. When you think of how many states adjoin IL, you realize that a lot of people will be able to get cannabis and take it back to their home states. We saw that with the west coast, Washington legalized weed, then Oregon did (why give up the tax revenue to WA?) then California did.

Sure, you're going to have holdouts in the deep South, and probably Utah, but this is a big leap forward for legalization. Eventually the SCOTUS will be called on to make legalization national, especially after Federal law is changed to remove marijuana from the list of dangerous drugs, and even Kavanaugh will OK it.

My sister in law has a relative who was busted in Nebraska, bringing weed back from Colorado to Indiana. He had to return to Nebraska for court and ultimately lost his teaching job.

Illinois shares borders with Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Kentucky, Indiana and Michigan (water border).
The only one of these states that has recreational weed is Michigan (just became legal today!), and I'm fairly certain the only dispensaries are on the East side of the State in Ann Arbor.
I suspect weed tourism will become a big deal.
