Can't Mitchell just fade into the sunset? And it's after one o'clock, why is she on?

The media loves the horse race. They cannot survive without it.

I’m old enough to remember when the news was really dull because networks stuck to the facts.

I’m also old enough to remember when CNN first went to a 24 hour feed. They actually had reporters stationed permanently in other countries and they reported on the world stage.

The changes with the advent of the internet have been revolutionary and profound albeit going through the changes doesn’t feel as drastic as it actually is, in terms of the extent of the societal and institutional changes. The emotional upheaval, though, of not knowing what will happen is also very real.

I find it all fascinating and exciting when I perceive it objectively. That adage about shooting the arrow in the air, not knowing where it will fall comes to mind. There’s a tense anticipatory excitement in not knowing.

That was when Ted Turner ran it and they had 2 people per country with a car and a sat phone.

They do still have CNN International - I actually watched it back in 1992 while cruising down the Nile River in Egypt. They would take the domestic feed and would broadcast that over their international feed around prime time (8 pm ET).

I've had msnbc on in the background while doing stuff around the house. Her low key, slow dialogue is putting me to sleep. She is the polar opposite of Chris Matthews.
