Don't Read the Transcript, Senators. Read Your OATH, Dammit!

And read it for understanding. If you need any help with words like "impartial," please feel free to contact me at any time. I will be happy to explain any words you don't understand.

Oaths are tossed about so casually that nobody pays much attention to what they are swearing to do.

Perhaps the reason why so many Republicans are OK with this is because so many Republicans live with a business mentality. Maybe this is just standard practice for some people in the way they do business, and they recognize no wrongdoing in behaving this way.

They will swear to tell the truth in testimony, and then lie brazenly.
They will swear to be faithful to their spouses, and then jump into bed with just about anyone who is willing.
They will swear to be impartial, despite having prejudged something already.
They will swear to protect the Constitution, and then make a pact with Vladimir Putin that violates it.

So much for oaths.
