We had about 750 when it started and people were still coming when we left at 615pm that's a good turn out for Tacoma

(8,895 posts)for a turn out like we have witnessed in the pictures of the crowds when some other country is really pissed off......
The pictures of these protest crowds in other countries are Hundreds and Hundreds of Thousands of people....

(28,979 posts)Big turnout there too. Toward the end, I got in a fight with a Trumper. Somewhat ashamed of myself as I was telling others not to engage up until I lost it when he started spouting shit about FDR and all Democratic presidents being evil and starting wars. On the 75th anniversary of my father slogging through the snow in the Ardenne Forest, I had no patience for a Nazi sympathizer.
A veteran who had been in Afghanistan helped calm me down.

(28,979 posts)It seems to have triggered some of the Trumpers driving by. Some nasty comments, revved motors, and one guy who flipped the bird, but mostly honks and thumbs up. The honks outnumbered the others about 50 to 1. People are sick of him.

(30,787 posts)in a small town in a red area of Northern Illinois. The town has just under 16,000 people. It is also the boyhood home of St. Ronnie.
I counted 62 people, with more arriving. It was a great turnout for such a town in a red area.
We were at a busy intersection. Large numbers of people honked and gave us a thumbs up. Only two trumpers expressed their disapproval.
It was cold. My fingers and toes were starting to freeze, despite my warm clothing. I stayed for about an hour.
I am proud of our turnout and the public reaction.

(6,279 posts)I haven't seen an official estimate but definitely several hundred. I was most surprised at how old the crowd was!

(1,104 posts)I moved to Tacoma last year and I have no idea where to go to get notifications of protest events.... Seems like everything I've signed up for only includes Seattle....
