"We need to work together, regardless of generation." Yes, but will we? I think every generation starts off with confidence and disdain for the mistakes of the previous generation. I graduated from high-school in 1967, and we all know what my generation thought of previous generations. "Don't trust anyone over 30", and all that. Peace, love, sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Over the years the confidence and disdain give way to practical necessity and reality. I haven't lost all of my youthful idealism, but a great deal of it has been eroded over time.

The newest generation call people like me "boomers", meaning baby boomers. I can understand that. They think we've done a shit job of being stewards of this world, and they're correct, for the most part. What remains to be seen is how they react to the realism and necessity of life. Personally I think humanity is doomed, because the greed and corruption inherent to our leaders doesn't seem if it's going to turn around and correct itself. I hope I'm wrong. I really hope I'm wrong.

I've been all over the world, have seen and met more decent people than bad people, but it only takes a few bad ones to ruin everything for the masses. It's a never ending struggle for the decent people of the world to get a fair shake from the asshats. Your mileage may vary.
