Is there a new format or am I noticing things?

Since about yesterday, I have noted a long Facebook 'like' tab at the bottom of each post.. Is this new, and if so, why should Facebook be given such attention?

In the scheme of things today this may be trivial, however I have never been a fan of facebook (or joined) and generally believe it has not been good for society, although I appreciate it has helped many people in small businesses and families stay in touch.

16. That's good to know. I run Firefox and a couple of ad blockers and I don't see any social

media tabs at all. That's interesting...

4. The link facebook tab is unusual.

It's a glitch in the code either at FB or in the page code on DU. Someone is bound to pick up on it sooner or later.

6. At the bottom of each post there is a Rec tab, a tweet tab, and to the right a 'like facebook' tab

which is at least 3x as long as the other two. I never recall it being so long - hence the question. Was it changed by DU or facebook?

That stuff only shows up on original thread-starter posts. I turned the feature back off. You'll find that option in My Account.

9. Did you check your account preferences yet?

My account tab> Preferences> Social media tabs on threads (Twitter, Google+, Facebook) Click 'remove' and it should become highlighted. (This is the 6th option down.)

If that's set correctly, but you still see them when you're signed in, deleting your DU cookies might fix things. If that doesn't help, contact the admins using the admin forum at https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=ata for technical issues.

(If anyone wants view what he's referring to, just sign out of DU so your preference settings are not in effect.)

10. Yes, my FB button is weirdly formatted to

be 3x as wide as the others as well. I figure it’s just a glitch that will get fixed soon enough.
