This was the day Trump broke our word, ruined our good name by pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal. All diplomacy with Iran ended that day. Iran could no longer trust us. Our allies could no longer trust us. This was the type of betrayal that usually leads to war.
Iran, a country I have been pissed off with for forty years, kept their word on the nuclear deal. With the swipe of pen Trump flushed years of hard work right down the toilet. He backstabbed Iran and then he attacked them with severe economic sanctions. Trump basically gave Iran two choices. Surrender to Trump or fight back.
This will go down in history as one of the most foolish decisions in our history. Trump literally broke a deal with Iran, attacked them and then told them come deal with me and do what I want.
There was no good reason to pull out of that deal. Trump could have kept it in place and still put sanctions on Iran in order to get them to negotiate on other issues. Trump ended the deal because Obama made the deal. Trump ended the deal because he believed Iran would fold under economic sanctions.
Everything that is happening now is a direct result of what Trump did on that infamous day. In my opinion, Trump has given Iran no choice but to once again pursue a nuclear weapon. If they do, what will Trump and Israel do? Do not be surprised if you hear in the near future Iran has restarted its nuclear program.
This is what happens when you put a corrupt reality TV host in charge of the world.

(3,666 posts)wrote the letter urging Iran not to sign the agreement. They came right out and said that America (the cons) couldn't be trusted to keep their word. Traitors one and all.

(12,870 posts)Why did US withdrawal from the agreement and hitting Iran with economic sanctions give them no choice but to pursue a nuclear weapon?
Is it because nukes are the ultimate deterrent?
Is it to exert pressure for a new agreement?
Either way, that's a pretty dangerous game.
A better route may have been a campaign to improve relations with the other signatories of the agreement, none of whom support Trump's withdrawal.
