(26,268 posts)I am an avid Monty Python fan, but never once saw much value in Gilliam's participation, aside from his writing. His animation added nothing, for me, but then I'm not a big fan of strange animation. His "performances" were so forced and amateurish, it is uncomfortable to even watch him.
A few months ago, I was persuaded to watch one of his films (The Man Who Killed Don Quixote) and I was left far beyond unimpressed, despite me being a HUGE fan of Jonathan Pryce.
Most of my friends think he is brilliant, so I guess it's just a question of taste.

Maybe I'm not"woke" - whatever that really means.
I'm just a little old lady who thinks he's hilarious.
I grew up in a pre-feminist world, was victim of several "me too" type behaviors.
I still think he's funny as was the interview.
Please refer to Trin Tragula and his amazing machine.

If you read the interview he's trying to be cute and cerebral, but yes comes off as trollish asshole...
Fuck this guy and rewatch Brazil. While satyrical, it's the dystopia that we are closest to...

He was also responsible for the visual effects in Holy Grail and Life of Brian.
I choose to remain blissfully ignorant about whatever abhorrent opinions he may hold.
