I get that impression anytime he is talking. Really. This is just pointing out the obvious and thanks.

Even rather old videos of him talking are funny and revealing about how he just pretends to know what he is talking about. It's his thing and I wonder if people just aren't really paying close attention these days since it seems to be suddenly noteworthy

There are many people like him, but as you said, this matters because of the high position he is grabbing.

That's a good question about his base. I think many are loyalists who have a heavy duty confirmation bias, so they hear what they want to hear and he makes sure of that. We all have biases and it helps to try to recognize them, but it is a good idea to keep in mind that they work like reality filters.
