Once again, Trump does not pay a price for anything he does.

A frightening evil protect Trumps. No matter what crimes he commits, no matter what mistakes he makes he pays no price. He pays no price for all his corruption and incompetence.

Iran decided to send a warning for the killing of their top general. They decided not to kill anyone. Trump was lucky again.

Kidnap children, it does not matter. Pull out of Syria leaving the Kurds helpless, does not matter.

Commit crimes right out in the open, does not matter.

Impeach Trump, does not matter.

Screw American farmers, does not matter.

Start trade wars, does not matter.

The list goes on and on. He can do anything and not pay a price.

What has been happening and is still happening is unexplainable. I see nothing that can stop Trump. I now believe he will not be removed through impeachment and I now believe he has a very good chance of being re-elected. What ever great evil is protecting him, it has made him invincible.

I would not make that bet.

My take is that this is the "official" action so that any "unofficial" action can be denied later. When someone gets killed/bombed somewhere else, they will just shrug and say it wasn't them because they already responded.

China updates deal to invest $400 billion in Iran: Report
Wednesday, 04 September 2019 8:56 AM

Iran and China have updated a 25-year deal signed first in 2016 that foresees $400 billion of Chinese investment in the resource-rich Middle Eastern nation, well-regarded energy industry publication the Petroleum Economist reports.

The update came during a visit at the end of August by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to Beijing where his Chinese counterpart State Councilor Wang Yi called the two countries as “comprehensive strategic partners”.

According to the Petroleum Economist, the deal represents “a potentially material shift to the global balance of the oil and gas sector” and could mark a "seismic shift in the global hydrocarbons sector” where no US dollars will be involved in commodity transaction payments.

Had they wished to kill Americans, they could have racked up a considerable body count.
It was a message to Lard Butt that Iran can hit what it aims at (including Trump properties), and based on the rapidity with which he backed down, that message was received.

What did they aim at? What did they hit? More people died in a stampede at the terrorist's funeral than saw what Iran fired yesterday.
The only people afraid of Iran...are gay Iranians, Women Iranians, Anti-theocratic Iranians....Iran couldn't hit the side of a barn if the fired from inside the barn

We used ONE drone fired missile....and killed a known terrorist in a car....last night they fired a dozen-maybe 2 doz..basically SCUDS into Iraq...and all I know is a Ukrainian passenger plane is a pile of junk in Iran....who did that?

Find any cyber security expert, and ask them who currently has a greater capability to engage in cyber war ... The US, or Iran.
And those weren't SCUDS the Iranians deployed. They were precisely targeted munitions.
If we go to war with Iran, they won't be attacking with camels and lances; regardless of the misguided assumptions of many Trumpons.

As for the downed airliner, I don't know. I DO know who has a history of downing Ukranian passenger planes, and who is taking advantage of our Dipshit-in-Chief to establish a greater toehold in the ME.

No way you believe Iran has more cyber skills than us....right? That would be a poorly informed view......you can't show a cyber expert that says the Iranians have better skills...or you'd have sourced it...the NORK's have better hackers.

"They were precisely targeted munitions."...targeted at What? The desert? They shot off a few Million $$'s worth of dirt bombs...

certainly seems to be the M$M grande talking point today.

Now waiting for Dick Tater to come out and beat his fascist chest in 3-2-1....

Who knows what will happen next. Maybe Iran is worried it could actually be nuked by an unhinged and unrestrained madman if they make him really angry. They may have a valid worry.

I think a few of things could take Trump out:

1- Noticeably Declining Economy, but not sure it will happen fast enough
2- If the Supreme Court rules tax returns must be released. There is something in there. Russia, Deutsche Bank, money laundering, or the fact he doesn't have any money.
3- A war / major conflict
4- A DEM Pac that focuses on ridiculing Trump for the next year/turning the campaign into reality TV. (We Americans love Reality TV) Hire one of the late night comedians/Alec Baldwin to make fun of trump mercilessly for the next year. But not on SNL, in campaign ads. Make the campaign fun/entertaining, not so serious. Kinda reminds of the city folks in the Hunger Games.
Unfortunately, DEMs will have a tough time beating trump on policies, because half the country doesn't care about policy/too dumb to understand the policy, and then there is the electoral college thingy.

9. It's sort of unexplainable.
Wed Jan 8, 2020, 12:20 PM
Jan 2020

And sort of explainable. There have been comments here and op-ed pieces recently about Republicans spending the past 40 years revising history and their role in the damage they have caused.

Another poster commented on the American tendency to look forward, not back. I had hoped that Obama would look back on 9/11 and the Iraq war, but he didn't. We needed to look forward. Well, the 9/11 commission was a whitewash and so has allowed Pence, in 2019, to claim Iranian involvement. And even the Saudi involvement has been whitewashed by continuing, and in the trump regime expanding, relations with Saudi Arabia. The Iraq and Afghan wars have been a travesty from the beginning. And no one, except a few prison guards at Al Ghraib, has been penalized. Renditions? Anyone remember? We kidnapped people and sent them to Gitmo, where many remain. And those who've been released? Talk about creating people with serial anti-American sentiment. No one convicted. Torture? The same.

Even now, with the indictments and prosecutions as a result of the Mueller "investigation," only a few have gone to prison, and they are likely to be pardoned. And Flynn is still a free man. And those who have gone to prison? For what? Apart from Manafort and Gates, just a year or so.

So, basically, America has created an environment where it is perfectly acceptable for trump and his cronies to commit crimes with impunity because he has a well-crafted machine to ensure that he can. And the next Democratic president will almost certainly want to "look forward," so the next Republican president can follow in the path blazed by trump.

BTW, there was a great post by Heartstrings yesterday - search for it - about why we in the reality-based universe think MAGAts are stupid. Read carefully, and you'll also see why trump can get away with it.

How does someone so stupid, careless, incompetent, unlikable and unstable manage to get away with so much for so long with out any repercussions? Or at least nothing that would bring him down for good. And his idiotic, blundering, vulgarian children have only served to make things worse.

It really turns my concept of the way the world should work upside down when nothing bad ever happens to evil, stupid people.
