AOC said that the Congressional Progressive Caucus should start kicking people out

[AOC] said the Congressional Progressive Caucus should start kicking people out if they stray too far from the party line. Other caucuses within the Democratic Party in Congress require applications, Ocasio-Cortez pointed out. But “they let anybody who the cat dragged in call themselves a progressive. There’s no standard,” she said.

The same goes for the party as a whole: “Democrats can be too big of a tent.”

Interesting that she refers to the Progressive Caucus as "them", rather than "we".

As one of the most junior members of the caucus, I wonder if the "anybody who the cat dragged in" are the people who were already there when she joined or some of the new freshman members.

Like the terms liberal, and progressive. What is the difference between a liberal and a progressive?

Perhaps this is a good opportunity to cut back and do what she feels is more important for her to be doing.

“I was assigned to some of the busiest committees and four subcommittees, so my hands are full. And sometimes I wonder if they’re trying to keep me busy.”

and sub-committees like every other rookie congressperson for forever has been assigned to to learn the ropes.

Perhaps the Speaker's role would be more appropriate?

What is the "standard" for joining the Progressive Caucus, anyway?

Let AOC talk. We let Manchin talk.

It doesn't really matter. I don't see where it hurts us.

She's a freshman Congress member. Let her be an idealist voice - that's the value youth brings to the debate. There's time for her to get old and compromise her ideals - after she's elected President!

and have compromised their ideals.

It certainly does hurt us when a prominent voice on our side of the aisle seeks exclusion rather than inclusion.

of being kicked out herself, no matter how she badmouths fellow members of the caucus, because WE RESPECT THE CHOICE OF THE VOTERS WHO SENT HER TO CONGRESS AND ALL THOSE SHE IS SUPPOSED TO REPRESENT.

It's almost unheard of to eject anyone out of respect for the will of the people.

Ocasio's have to do something far more shameful than exhibit her aberrantly intolerant and antidemocratic attitude. That's even though Roll Call reports she was elected by only 11% of registered voters in her district and that they were only 5% of the Democrats. However it happened, her complacent district's Wednesday Morning Surprise has a right to belong to any caucus she wants. Even Republican Freedom Caucus, though hierarchal and antidemocratic Republicans may be more hard-nosed about toeing the line. But it's literally each member's choice, and they're all answerable to their constituents.
