Are there people who are so clueless as to get the land and water masses of the map confused?

The morning after LBJ's "Gulf of Tonkin" bullshit speech, our H.S. football coach, who was also a geography teacher, had no idea where Vietnam was on a map.

All he knew is that us guys could kiss our asses goodby with that moron in the White House.
Unfortunately for too many of my teammates he was right.

Income and education level are, however.

Though only 38% of college grads got it right. Like....ugh.

Gender was apparently a factor, 38% of men got it right, only 20% of women.

Race was not mentioned.

It's not as if it's only just hit the news; it's been a major part of American news for 40 years.

And Democrats did worst out of the 3 political groupings. Shameful.

I'm not surprised cause I heard this thing before.

But I can't understand why everyone doesn't look at maps.

I even love maps of places that aren't real!

My brother had no idea where Delaware was. He thought New England.

I'd be pretty surprised if I wasn't a small child the last day I went without looking at at least 1 map.

Of course I have a world map on my wall. Out of date. Someone gave me a new one, UNLAMINATED!

Those who picked the Romania/Greece area, they got the approximate shape and size right. The ones who picked Iraq and Afghanistan at least were close and knew Iran is in the middle east.
